My Business My People

The Group Training Association of Victoria, of which LINK is a member, has been contracted by the Victorian State Government to deliver business services through the Victorian Government initiative My Business, My People. The program aims to assist small to medium-sized Victorian businesses to implement strategies to better manage the skills shortage, as well as attract and retain a skilled workforce.

To be eligible you must own or manage a Victorian business with between 5 and 100 full-time equivalent employees, have been trading for a minimum of 12 months and be financially sound.

Free on-site assistance is provided by workforce planning specialists for small to medium-sized businesses to develop strategies to:

find the right staff when you need them.
assess the skills of your staff.
keep your best staff.

The specialist will provide free on-site workforce assessment and advice. The assessment will consider: strategic priorities for the business, current workforce planning processes, development of workforce profiles, forecasts of future workforce needs, and assess barriers to improving business performance.

The assessment will be used to enable you to develop an action plan that identifies business and workplace planning improvement opportunities, and skill development needs.

The program provides:

Access to an online toolkit of workforce planning and HR management resources.
Subsidized management development programs for business owners and managers.
Financial assistance to up-skill and re-skill existing employees.
